About Hotels With Paws
Hotels With Paws is an independent comparison site for one specific travel problem: you are going somewhere, the dog or the cat is coming, and every listing says pet friendly without saying what that costs or what it excludes. We collect the pet policy for hotels across the United States and put them side by side, city by city: the fee and whether it is charged per night or per stay, the weight limit, how many animals, and whether cats count.
Where the policies come from
- Which hotels accept pets comes from the pet-filtered inventory of major booking platforms. Membership in that filtered set is what establishes that a hotel takes animals at all. It establishes almost nothing else: those listings say “pets are allowed, charges may apply” and stop there.
- Chain policies are read from what each hotel group publishes itself, recorded with the page we read and the month we read it. Most groups let each property set its own fee, so a chain policy is shown in its own block, attributed to the chain, and never filled into a specific hotel's fee.
- Property-level policies are extracted with the help of a language model that searches the web, and are only recorded when the model returns a source we can point at. A policy without a source is not written down.
- Descriptions are rewritten rather than copied from listings. Guest scores and review counts are shown exactly as collected, never edited, never our own, and never invented.
The one line we do not cross
We never invent a pet policy detail. Not the fee, not whether it is per night or per stay, not the weight limit, not the maximum number of animals, not the deposit, not breed restrictions, not which species are accepted. When we do not hold one of those figures, the page shows nothing at all: an empty cell, an absent block. A blank means we do not hold it, never that the hotel has no rule.
This is not perfectionism, it is the whole point. A wrong weight limit is what gets someone turned away at a front desk at 11pm with a dog in the car and nowhere to go. A guess that reads well is worse than an honest gap, so we ship the gap.
Policies and fees change, and a hotel can revise one without telling anyone. Every figure here carries the month we last checked it. Treat this site as a shortlist, and confirm with the hotel when you book.

When you book through links on this site, we may earn a commission from our booking partner, at no extra cost to you. Commissions never affect which hotels we list, how they rank, or what we report about their policies. Ranking is deterministic and stated on the page: pet fee first, then weight limit, then guest score. No hotel can pay to move up it.
